Hello Coyote Families,
On behalf of the CCS PFC Board, welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! If you are new to CCS, you will quickly discover the extraordinary group of active parents, faculty, and staff that help make Cottonwood more than just a school - they make it a living thriving community for our kids to learn and grow.
We are all very excited about our first year as a full K-8 school and about new beginnings here at Cottonwood Creek! We are very lucky to have our talented dedicated Principal, Dr. Ventura, and an experienced staff of excellent teachers to educate and enrich our children this year.
As a PFC, our goal is to continue to support and strengthen Cottonwood Creek K-8 to ensure that each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential! A few of the exciting events and programs planned include our Trunk or Treat fall festival, East Bay Astronomy Society’s Star Gazing Night, the CCS Science Fair, and the Young Author’s Contest sponsored by our PFC Book Club, as well as many others!
We are also hoping to expand the support we provide by sponsoring a CCS student led podcast and providing additional resources, like 3D printers for our Maker’s Space. From site improvement to resources for teachers, the PFC works hard to ensure the students have a safe campus and all the tools they need to succeed.
Now comes the part where we ask for your help in order to achieve our mission. Please consider taking the following action steps toward being actively engaged in our school community.
Volunteer with PFC! No experience necessary and no requirements are asked of you. We welcome and appreciate all feedback and input. Join the conversation! Pave the direction your dollars get used for by attending General PFC Meetings where we look ahead at defining new goals and implementing existing ones!
Our meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of the month alternating between 11:30am and 6:30pm. Please check our PFC website for the meeting information for the 2019-2020 school year.
Get involved in any capacity, whether you can share your professional expertise or a hidden talent; whether you can help every day, an hour a week, or for a specific event, you are needed and appreciated.
Make a Financial Contribution! Every dollar counts. This year we are launching our Dollar a Day program. We ask that each family donate about a dollar a day per student. This donation comes to about $175 dollars per student attending CCS. This contribution enables our students to not only keep up with our neighboring schools in Dublin but to compete with students from neighboring districts like Pleasanton and San Ramon at regional events like Science Fair, Speech and Debate and more.
As you learn more about Cottonwood and the PFC, I hope you will be inspired to join us in whatever capacity you are able. Each one of our dedicated board members are available to help you answer any questions about Cottonwood and the efforts we are making as a PFC. Please feel free to email any PFC board member or catch one of us at drop-off or pick-up if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support!
